Upgrade to v5.3.0 on Base Mainnet

Upgrade SKALE validator nodes on Base Mainnet with node version 5.3.0-base

This release updates the node version to 5.3.0-base, node-cli to 3.3.1, and SGXWallet to 1.10.4 on Base Mainnet.

Before starting, back up the SGXWallet sgx_data directory and sgx_wallet_backup_key.txt on another machine. Back up each node with skale node backup . from the directory containing its .env file.

Upgrade the SGX server

Verify the skalenetwork/sgxwallet_release image digest before and after the SGXWallet update:

• Before updating, version 1.10.2 must match sha256:82db299f99de550cc9e9d5c32669ae5b043d17ff04cc14cf9a5c56cd779a01bf.
• After updating, version 1.10.4 must match sha256:174750f4d912ecb2680f8bc5f3ffc5f59ad25e62df9abff2e61a64fda8182953.

If either digest does not match, stop the upgrade process and notify the SKALE core team immediately through any available communication channel.

1. Set the SGXWallet image to v1.10.4

   On the SGX server, open sgxwallet/run_sgx/docker-compose.yml and set the image to:

   image: skalenetwork/sgxwallet_release:1.10.4
   

   Keep the existing volumes, devices, and command settings.

2. Restart SGXWallet with the new image

   From sgxwallet/run_sgx, run:

   docker compose down && docker compose pull && docker compose up -d
   

Upgrade each Base Mainnet node server

1. Download node-cli v3.3.1

   On each node server, download the Linux x86_64 binary:

   curl -fL https://github.com/skalenetwork/node-cli/releases/download/3.3.1/skale-3.3.1-Linux-x86_64 -o /usr/local/bin/skale
   
2. Verify the node-cli binary checksum

   sha512sum /usr/local/bin/skale
   

   Expected checksum:

   baa46bb22f535cef979cf8816ddefb0d0b51fec37129af6f5ec65774cfe609714ccaa2d656fd7962deb7c1f6e06df1ee637e2a5ff1fecc06539a672ebc7d27cd
   
3. Make node-cli executable

   chmod +x /usr/local/bin/skale
   skale version
   
4. Set the SKALE node version

   In the node’s .env file, set:

   NODE_VERSION=5.3.0-base
   

   Keep the existing Base Mainnet ENDPOINT, ENV_TYPE, contract addresses, and other network settings.

5. Run the node update

   Remove the INFLUX_URL option from the node’s .env file before starting the update.

   From the directory containing .env, run:

   skale node update .env --yes
   

   Then check the node and its SGXWallet connection:

   skale node info
   skale health sgx
