Overview
The SKALE Portal provides an easy-to-use interface for staking SKL tokens. This guide walks you through the complete process of staking your SKL tokens through the portal.Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:- Web3 Wallet - MetaMask, WalletConnect, or hardware wallet
- SKL Tokens - SKL tokens on Ethereum Mainnet
- ETH Balance - Small amount of ETH for gas fees
- Ethereum Mainnet - Connected to Ethereum Mainnet network
Step 1: Access the SKALE Portal
- Navigate to the SKALE Portal
- Click on “Staking” in the navigation menu
- You’ll be directed to the staking interface
Step 2: Connect Your Wallet
- Click the “Connect Wallet” button
- Select your preferred wallet:
- MetaMask - Browser extension wallet
- WalletConnect - Mobile wallet connection
- Hardware Wallet - Ledger, Trezor, etc.
- Approve the connection request in your wallet
- Ensure you’re connected to Ethereum Mainnet
If you’re not on Ethereum Mainnet, switch your network in your wallet. The portal will prompt you if you’re on the wrong network.
Step 3: Verify Your SKL Balance
- Once connected, your wallet address will be displayed
- Check your SKL Balance shown on the portal
- Ensure you have sufficient SKL tokens for staking
- If needed, acquire SKL tokens or bridge them from SKALE Chains
Step 4: Browse Validators
- Navigate to the “Validators” section
- Browse available validators:
- Validator Name - Name and identifier
- Performance Metrics - Uptime, reliability scores
- Commission Rate - Validator’s commission percentage
- Total Staked - Amount of SKL staked with validator
- Delegator Count - Number of delegators
- Review validator details and performance history
- Select a validator that meets your criteria
Step 5: Select Staking Period
- Click on your chosen validator
- Review available staking periods:
- Different periods offer different reward rates
- Longer periods typically offer higher rewards
- Consider your liquidity needs
- Select your preferred staking period
- Review the estimated rewards for your selected period
Step 6: Enter Staking Amount
- Enter the amount of SKL you want to stake
- The interface will show:
- Staking Amount - Amount you’re staking
- Estimated Rewards - Projected rewards
- Gas Fee Estimate - Estimated ETH gas cost
- Review the staking summary
- Ensure you have sufficient ETH for gas fees
Step 7: Confirm and Submit
- Review all staking details:
- Validator selection
- Staking period
- Staking amount
- Estimated rewards
- Gas fees
- Click “Stake” or “Delegate” button
- Your wallet will prompt you to confirm the transaction
- Review the transaction details in your wallet
- Approve the transaction
- Wait for transaction confirmation on Ethereum Mainnet
Step 8: Monitor Your Staking
- After confirmation, navigate to “My Staking” or “Portfolio”
- View your active staking positions:
- Staked Amount - Amount currently staked
- Validator - Validator you’re staked with
- Staking Period - Remaining staking period
- Earned Rewards - Rewards accumulated
- Status - Current staking status
- Monitor validator performance
- Track your rewards over time
Managing Your Staking
View Rewards
- Navigate to your staking position
- View Earned Rewards - Rewards you’ve accumulated
- Check Reward History - Historical reward distribution
- Monitor Reward Rate - Current reward rate
Claim Rewards
- Navigate to your staking position
- Click “Claim Rewards” when rewards are available
- Confirm the transaction in your wallet
- Wait for confirmation
- Rewards will be added to your wallet balance
Undelegate
- Navigate to your staking position
- Click “Undelegate” or “Unstake”
- Review the unbonding period information
- Confirm the undelegation request
- Your tokens will enter the unbonding period
- After the unbonding period, you can withdraw your tokens
Withdraw After Unbonding
- After the unbonding period completes
- Navigate to your completed staking position
- Click “Withdraw”
- Confirm the withdrawal transaction
- Your SKL tokens will be returned to your wallet

- Research Validators - Review validator performance and history
- Check Uptime - Choose validators with high uptime
- Consider Commission - Lower commission means more rewards for you
